California Pizza Kitchen, creator of California-style pizza, and STOMP Out Bullying, the leading national anti-bullying and cyberbullying organization for kids and teens in the U.S., today announced their partnership for the second year with the launch of a nationwide fundraiser taking place at all CPK locations across the country that will kick off at the LA Dodgers game on October 3.
On October 4, CPK will donate 20% of sales from all U.S. restaurants, whether you dine-in, take-out or order online, to STOMP Out Bullying, with an additional 5% donation whenever a guest wears blue, STOMP Out Bullying’s signature color, in-store during the month of October. To participate, guests simply need to mention STOMP Out Bullying when they order, or enter code “STOMP” when ordering online. In tandem, CPK’s Irvine Spectrum, Solana Beach, Tarzana, Marina Del Rey and Manhattan Beach locations will #BlueUp with blue-lit exteriors from the evening of October 3 to October 4 to show support for victims of bullying and celebrate the importance of kindness during World Bullying Prevention Month.
In addition to the national fundraiser, CPK and STOMP Out Bullying will make a special appearance at the Los Angeles Dodgers game on October 3 against the Milwaukee Brewers - the last Dodgers game of the regularly scheduled season - to raise awareness and put a stop to all bullying and discrimination. STOMP Out Bullying’s 300-person team of ambassadors, staff and supporters will be in attendance, and CPK CEO Jim Hyatt will be throwing out the first pitch. He’ll be joined by several STOMP Out Bullying youth ambassadors who have signed a commitment to stopping bullying, inspiring the next generation to be kind. During this time, the stadium will be invited to stand up and STOMP out bullying.
“At California Pizza Kitchen, we want to create an environment where everyone feels safe - including CPK team members, our partners, and our guests,” says Jim Hyatt, CEO at California Pizza Kitchen. “That’s why we are excited to partner with STOMP Out Bullying and help bring awareness to their powerful message of kindness and inclusivity. And we look forward to welcoming all of our guests to our CPK locations for our national STOMP Out Bullying fundraiser on October 4.”
“Bullying continues to be a pervasive issue in our nation, but by partnering with CPK during World Bullying Prevention Month, we’re able to bring our message to even more people and positively impact many young lives,” says Ross Ellis, founder and CEO of STOMP Out Bullying. “Working with companies that share our mission to spread kindness and eradicate hate of any kind is incredibly rewarding. At the end of the day, we hope our work together lets people who may be struggling know that they’re not alone, and encourages all to be kind - not just during World Bullying Prevention Month.”
Additional in-game activations to rally support against bullying include lighting up the screens throughout the stadium blue during the first pitch and blue-topped CPK pizza boxes when guests dine at one of CPK’s four in-stadium locations. CPK has created a 45-second film, highlighting their commitment to STOMP Out Bullying over the years and their promise to provide unconditional kindness to those who enter their doors. The video will be played live during the Dodgers game.
