In celebration of National Senior Citizens Day, on Sunday, August 21, Burtons Grill, the casual restaurant chain with seven locations in the New England area will be honoring senior citizens by offering 50 percent off all food items to diners 65 and older.

Officially established on August 19, 1988, by President Ronald Reagan in Proclamation 5847, National Senior Citizens Day is a day to celebrate all that the elderly have done, and continue to do for the community. Reagan wanted to dedicate an entire day to celebrate the profound influences the aging population has on their families, communities, and the nation. Now, as more than 80 million baby boomers age, there are more senior citizens in the United States than ever before.

The National Senior Citizen’s Day special is available on Sunday, August 21, at all seven Burtons Grill locations, including: Boston; Hingham, Massachusetts; North Andover, Massachusetts; Peabody, Massachusetts; South Windsor, Connecticut; Nashua, New Hampshire; and Virginia Beach, Virginia.
