Burger & Lobster, the London-born brand known for bringing its novel eponymous menu to surf and turf lovers worldwide including two restaurants in New York City, is set to supercharge its global expansion plans in 2019 with the launch of its latest restaurant at Singapore’s newest tourist destination, the Jewel Changi Airport (Jewel).

Set to be an iconic Singapore landmark, Jewel is designed by world-renowned architect Moshe Safdie and features a distinctive dome-shaped facade made of glass and steel. It will offer both international visitors and locals world-class play attractions, accommodations, aviation facilities, shopping and dining experiences, with Burger & Lobster being its first eatery.

“As a result of the continued success of the Burger & Lobster brand globally, we expect our new Singapore establishment in such an iconic location to be as big a draw as our Flatiron and Bryant Park restaurants here in New York City,” says Vladimir Borodin, US CEO of Burger & Lobster. “We’ve also been actively looking for new opportunities in major US markets, given high demand from surf and turf lovers from around the country, so we’re already preparing to scale our unique experience in other American cities.”

Burger & Lobster’s Singapore restaurant will be located at Canopy Park, Jewel’s topmost floor, where diners will be treated to spectacular views of the verdant landscaping and the majestic 130-foot high Rain Vortex, set to be the world’s tallest indoor waterfall. The dining hotspot will feature a core menu that includes its famed prime burger, fresh Atlantic lobster and original lobster roll, alongside a delicious beverage program catering to travelers, trend-seekers and local residents. New dishes using locally sourced ingredients and inspired by local flavors will also be introduced to the menu on a seasonal basis.

Burger & Lobster has appointed award-wining interior design consultancy Rockett to oversee the design and build of the 81-cover luxury eatery at Jewel. The restaurant will have a luxurious, contemporary design that infuses a mix of lush nature with urban energy to create a dining experience that promises to enthrall and delight diners. Its design will feature rich reds, bold marble and beautiful handmade, crackle-glazed tiles alongside eye-catching fresh lobster tanks, which can be viewed from every seat in the restaurant.

Misha Zelman, Global CEO of Burger & Lobster, says, “We consider ourselves very fortunate to be opening in Singapore and adding Jewel to the global family of restaurants. We have secured an iconic Singapore location in Jewel and are excited to be evolving the Burger & Lobster brand in such a ground-breaking global innovation at the heart of Southeast Asia. With Jewel dubbed to be the gateway to the rest of the world, the partnership marries perfectly with Burger & Lobster’s obsession with offering products in the most fascinating locations across the world.”

Hung Jean, chief executive officer of Jewel Changi Airport Devt says, “It is our aspiration for Jewel to be a place where ‘Singapore Meets the World, and the World Meets Singapore’. Burger & Lobster will be an invaluable addition to our specially curated mix of dining establishments.  We are very excited that Burger & Lobster has chosen Jewel to be its first-in-Singapore location and we look forward to our partnership together.”

With further eateries planned to launch across the globe, including the U.S. and Asia, the expansion follows a “better than expected” year-end period of trading globally. Jewel is on track to open in the first half of 2019.
