The wood-fired taste born in the Carolinas is heading further south and preparing to open its first three locations in the state of Georgia this fall.  Brixx Wood Fired Pizza restaurants will open in the Atlanta suburbs of Peachtree City and Marietta, and in Athens, Georgia. All three will be launched by Brixx Wood Fired Pizza franchise owners. Each of the restaurants above will employ about 40 people.

L.B. Duck, LLC, has signed a lease for 3,223 square feet in The Avenue in Peachtree City, a southwestern suburb of Atlanta.

NAS Holdings, Inc. will open a 3,600 square foot Brixx in Marietta, a northwestern suburb of Atlanta, at The Avenue East Cobb.

The third new location at 131 West Washington Street – a few blocks from the University of Georgia in Athens – will be owned by Alan Overcash. The 3,000 square-foot Brixx will be the first tenant in this new building.

“We’ve had our eye on expansion into Georgia for a long time now, but we knew we’d need the right locations and the right ownership groups. Now, we’ve got them,” says Neil Newcomb, president of Brixx Franchise Systems.

Jackie Ford, co-owner of the new Peachtree City location, says she’s eager to get started. “We think the simple elegance that Brixx brings to casual food is just what Georgia is clamoring for.”

The first Brixx opened in Charlotte, N.C., in 1998. From day one, the menu has featured fresh salads, pastas, sandwiches and, of course, pizza cooked in a wood-burning brick oven. Menu items are accented by house made items ranging from focaccia bread baked daily to fresh mozzarella and traditional and whole-wheat pizza dough.

Brixx appeals to a wide array of palates and dietary needs, offering gluten-free dough, vegetarian and vegan items. The restaurant bar features 24 craft beers on tap & 14 wines by the glass.
