Bridor, the premier industrial baker of European bread and Viennese pastry, has created a unique savory pastry with under 350 calories.
The Margherita style Bistro is a convenient small meal or snack that marries fresh diced tomatoes, Mozzarella, and Bridor’s acclaimed flaky croissant dough to create a delicious treat that fits in your hand.
“Trade and foodservice operators have embraced our Bistro items since we introduced the line a year ago because they meet consumer demand for small meal and ‘on the go’ baked goods with a lower calorie count,” says Jean-Pierre Hyacinthe, vice president of innovation and development of Bridor North America.
“Our fresh Margherita Bistro, which is made with 100 percent butter and all-natural ingredients, caters to American’s love affair with pizza," he says.
Hyacinthe adds that Bistro items can be paired with soup or salad to produce a complete meal, or cut before baking to create appetizers. The five Bistros by Bridor are delivered pre egg-washed, pre-proofed, and ready to bake.
They contain fresh ingredients, no artificial flavors, and no preservatives. The Margherita joins Bridor’s existing line of Egg, Leak & Parmesan, Tomato & Olive, and Spinach & Feta Bistros.
After baking, each Bistro can stay at ambient temperatures for one day and keep up to three days at refrigerated temperatures.
