This summer, Bob’s Clam Hut in Kittery, Maine, will not only welcome the warm weather and throngs of seasonal visitors, but also a new sibling location in Maine’s food capital, Portland. The year-round second location marks the first expansion in the restaurant’s 60-plus year history.

A standalone structure situated on the bustling corner of Washington and Cumberland Avenues, at the base of Munjoy Hill, Bob’s Portland marries the Kittery nostalgia its known for with a more modern, industrial aesthetic. Retro colors and rustic materials combine with clean lines, exposed metalwork, painted brick and an open kitchen. A covered street-side patio evokes beer garden vibes with its picnic tables and string lighting.

Speaking of beer, Bob’s Clam Hut Portland will have a rotating list of local craft brews – an offering distinct to Portland, and frankly, an obligation in a city flush with independent brewers. Other menu additions include clam, oyster and fish tacos alongside decadent milkshakes featuring local artisanal Rococo Ice Cream.

Currently under construction, the Bob’s team expects to open the Portland location just in time for the summer season. In the meantime, eager patrons can visit Bob’s Kittery location, which is open year-round, seven-days-a-week.
