Big Whiskey’s American Restaurant & Bar (Springfield Missouri) purchased the former Ruby Tuesday in Republic and another in Nixa. The announcement was made by Paul Sundy, co-founder, as the company stands poised to open its newest franchised stores.

“We’ve been searching for the right location in Republic for some time and this opportunity is a perfect fit to expand our presence in the region, plus we have a few surprises,” Sundy says. “This will be Big Whiskey’s Concepts first free-standing location which we plan to open this summer.”

Austin Herschend, Big Whiskey’s Franchising CEO, adds, “We’ll convert the Ruby Tuesday in Republic to introduce our new design concept—it’s still a Big Whiskey’s but with some updated enhancements and features.” The building will undergo a complete facelift inside and out, with renovations expected to begin as soon as final plans are drawn and permitted.

The company will also open its newest franchises in Bentonville, AR on March 10 and Lee’s Summit, Missouri, in early May.  The new Arkansas location is near WalMart’s headquarters, nestled in a new strip center near most of the giant retailer’s vendor offices.  The Kansas City Big Whiskey’s is in the Summit Fair Center near the intersection of I-470 and Blue Parkway. Herschend says that “we’re in negotiations to award franchises in Texas, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee.”

Offering award-winning food in a welcoming environment, Big Whiskey’s has something for everyone; including exceptional flavors for every bar connoisseur–now serving over 100 different types of whiskeys and 25 beers on tap, with 25 large HD TV’s and daily happy hour specials. Visitors to the new Republic location and the franchised stores will have the same experience that has driven the company’s success.

Big Whiskey’s operates 5 units in Southwest Missouri—3 in Springfield and one each in Ozark and Branson. The latter is inside the Hilton Branson Landing.
