Big Time Restaurant Group has recently appointed seasoned hospitality pro Robert Morris to its award-winning, restaurant operations team.
As the General Manager of City Cellar Wine Bar & Grill and Barrio, both located at The Square in West Palm Beach, his day-to-day responsibilities include planning and directing restaurant operations, maintaining high standards of food, service, health, and safety, while ensuring efficient and profitable business performance, and spearheading optimal utilization of restaurant staff and resources. But it’s at the front of the house where Morris shines.
“The hospitality field is a second home to me, and I love working with the public,” says Morris. “As general manager, I am always looking for ways to improve restaurant service, while providing a unique, culinary backdrop for our guests.”
Morris developed his hospitality career with on-the-job-training at South Florida’s top restaurant chains and distinguished golf communities, including Addison Reserve and Mizner Country Club. He also opened and managed Rocco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, which was the popular Mexican restaurant chain’s first airport restaurant.
A business major at the University of Central Florida in 1997-1999, he later studied Management in Information Technology in 2000-2001 at Florida Atlantic University, where he co-founded the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.
In his free time, the West Palm Beach resident enjoys cooking, working out, and traveling.
City Cellar Wine Bar & Grill and Barrio are located at 700 S. Rosemary Ave., Second Floor, West Palm Beach.
