BentoBox Launches Online Pop-up Shop to Raise Money for Relief Organizations

BentoBox, a hospitality platform that empowers restaurants to own their presence, profits and relationships, today announced that it has launched a Restaurant Relief Pop-up Shop to raise funds for restaurants affected by nationwide shutdowns.

BentoBox’s online pop-up shop provides a stylish way to donate to a worthy cause and show support for one of our nation’s most impacted industries. The restaurant industry employs 15.6 million people nationwide, and there are over one million restaurant locations in the United States. To ensure that the restaurant industry has a future, BentoBox’s design team has created a line of memorable tote bags and bandanas, with taglines like “Keep Calm and Order Take Out” and “Use Your Noodle, Wash Your Hands.”

All sales proceeds will be split equally between Relief Opportunities for All Restaurants (ROAR) and the Independent Restaurant Coalition (IRC), both of which are actively working to provide relief to those in the hospitality industry. ROAR has partnered with Robin Hood to raise donations for a New York City Restaurant Employee Relief Fund, while IRC employs political advocacy to save local restaurants affected by COVID-19. BentoBox has created pro-bono websites to support the work of both groups.

"From selling staff-made art to virtual cooking lessons, the restaurants that work with us have been incredibly creative in developing ways to bring in revenue while under lockdown,” says BentoBox CEO Krystle Mobayeni. “They inspired us to take our own out-of-the-box approach to supporting the industry."
