Bennigan’s is opening its second location in Doha, Qatar, on Monday, bringing its friendly Irish hospitality, craveable chef-driven food and innovative drinks to the Wakra Souq historical district.

The new Bennigan’s will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on May 8 to celebrate its grand opening at Heritage Market Wakra, near the Peral Roundabout. Local dignitaries and executives from Qatar franchisee group Sterling Catering will be in attendance.

Bennigan’s first Doha restaurant, located next to the Qatar Tennis & Squash Complex, has experienced great success since it opened in May 2000. It is consistently rated one of the best casual dining restaurants in Doha.

“We are extremely pleased to open our second Bennigan’s here in Qatar,” says John Mathew, owner of Sterling Catering. “We share the brand’s passion for providing memorable dining experiences every meal, every day, and we are looking forward to sharing ‘The American Legend’ with our friends in Doha for many years to come.”

Bennigan’s menu features such signature favorites as the World Famous Monte Cristo, Oh, Baby Back Ribs, the Turkey O’Toole, the Big Irish double-decker hamburger and a wide assortment of non-alcoholic specialty drinks.

“Since 2000, Mr. John Mathew has not only been an exemplary franchise partner, but the operator of one of the highest-volume Bennigan’s in our global system,” says Paul Mangiamele, Chairman & CEO of Legendary Restaurant Brands LLC. “Our pride in his beautiful new restaurant is superseded only by our deep respect for John, his son Mac John and the entire Bennigan’s team in Qatar.”

The new Doha restaurant will be open for lunch, dinner and late night. The restaurant includes a beautiful seating area ideal for family-friendly dining, business meals and large group events.

Now with more than 150 restaurants open or under contract worldwide, Legendary Restaurant Brands LLC is continuing to experience strong growth while simultaneously redefining casual dining. Since the end of 2012, the company has opened new franchise locations in Clarksburg and Frederick, Md; Santa Clara, Calif.; Melbourne, Fla., Tysons Corner, Va.; Veracruz, Mexico; Larnaca, Cyprus; Obarrio, Panama; Doha, Qatar; and Dubai, UAE; and a new corporate location in Panama City, Fla.

Additional restaurants are planned for California, Florida, Tennessee and Texas; and internationally in Mexico, Central America, Cyprus, Bahrain, India and Australia.
