In an effort to support the spouses and children of U.S. fallen and disabled military members, popular create-your-own stir-fry restaurant bd’s Mongolian Grill raised $25,761.93 through a Memorial Day fundraiser, which benefited the Folds of Honor Foundation.

Folds of Honor is a non-profit organization that works to provide educational scholarships for spouses and children of fallen and disabled service members. During the fundraiser, bd’s sold $2 pin-up slips in exchange for $5 gift cards valid toward another visit to the restaurant. All of the campaign donations and 10 percent of bd’s sales on Memorial Day went directly to Folds of Honor.

“Bd’s is proud to contribute to the Folds of Honor mission,” says Joe Phraner, president and COO of bd’s Mongolian Grill. “It’s rewarding to know that we are helping to provide educational scholarships to help our nation’s heroes and their families.”

In 2016, Folds of Honor awarded more than 3,600 scholarships, contributing to the 13,000-plus scholarships granted since 2007.

“We are so thankful for bd’s Mongolian Grill’s donation and commitment to our cause,” says the founder of the Folds of Honor Foundation, Major Dan Rooney. “We couldn’t do it without amazing patrons like them driving our mission to support the families of those who have done so much for our great nation.”

In 2016, bd’s raised a total of $54,482.78 for the Folds of Honor Foundation, funded through a combined effort of its Memorial Day campaign, sale of special edition Bud Light cans, and Veterans Day campaign.
