American Social, the upscale sports bar and farm-to-table restaurant that originated in South Florida on Las Olas Boulevard and expanded to downtown Miami, has announced a new location in Tampa. Lisbeth Alvarez of, High Street Retail USA, negotiated the lease of the more than 12,000-square foot, bay-front space at The Pointe on Harbour Island, a project being repositioned by Convergent Capital Partners.

Adjacent to Davis Island, the location at 601 S. Harbour Island Blvd., contains more than 8,000-square feet of interior space and more than 4,000-square feet of bay-front patio dining, which includes more than 2,500-square feet of private event and patio space. Adjacent to the new developments recently announced in downtown Tampa, AmSo is walking distance from the Tampa Bay Convention Center and Amalie Arena.

The waterfront property will undergo a beautification of its own as an extensive build-out and renovation is currently underway. With around 400 seats and three full-service bars, the space will also feature two, four-tap private booths for self-serve beer, one self-serve communal beer wall with six taps and one fully private dining room with accommodation of up to 16 guests.

Helmed by restaurateurs Rick Mijares and Paul Greenberg, American Social is known for its extensive selection of local and national craft beers, lively happy hours and award-winning menu items. The new space will debut as the third pillar to the successful restaurant series that pays tribute to classic Americana style. The original AmSo, located on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale, recently celebrated its three-year anniversary, and the Downtown Miami-Brickell, riverfront location will soon be celebrating its first.
