40NORTH Restaurants, the full-service division of Villa Restaurant Group, owned by New Jersey’s own Scotto Family, announced that it has acquired the popular TOWN bar + kitchen restaurant, located at 80 Elm Street in Morristown, New Jersey. As part of the deal, which was cemented in November of 2018, 40NORTH and Villa Restaurant Group also acquired the entire building on 80 Elm Street that houses TOWN bar + kitchen.  The restaurant, which is known for its contemporary and eclectic food and offerings, will continue to operate under the 40NORTH dining portfolio, joining several top New Jersey restaurants, including The Office Tavern Grill locations in Morristown, Summit and Ridgewood, George and Martha’s in Morristown, Piattino Neighborhood Bar and Grill locations in Summit and Mendham and The Black Horse Pub and Tavern in Mendham.

Originally the location of Sebastian’s, which experienced a massive fire in 2014, the restaurant was completely overhauled and rebranded, reopening to the public as the new TOWN bar + kitchen in 2017.  The 6,000 square-foot restaurant includes seating for 200 guests, or room for a private event up to 150, and also features an outdoor rooftop for dining in the summer.  The menu is an eclectic mix of different cultures featuring items, such as Grilled Octopus, Lobster Puttanesca and Seared Duck breast, as well as traditional favorites, such as Organic Pork Chop, Potato Gnocchi and Braised Short Ribs.  Guests will also be able to splurge on a variety of specialty cocktails made with top-notch liquors, choose from a vast selection of draft, bottled or reserved beers, or sip on any of the restaurant’s delectable wine offerings from its extensive and varied wine list.
