Via 313 is making its way across the Lone Star State as the Austin-based brand approaches its San Antonio debut on Aug. 1.

To celebrate, the award-winning concept is inviting the local community to join the Via 313 team and the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce for a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, July 29 at 5:30 pm. at the new pizzeria, located at 8435 Wurzbach Road, Ste. 213 near Balcones Heights. Via 313 will be giving away prizes and serving up its famous “square” pizzas that feature handmade dough prepared fresh daily using the finest flours and classic baking techniques.

“We’re thrilled to finally bring our Motor City flavor to San Antonio,” says Co-Founder Brandon Hunt. “We’ve loved sharing our Detroit-style pizza with the Austin area and can’t wait to join the amazing community in Alamo City. We look forward to welcoming everyone into our new spot and celebrating at the grand opening together!”

The San Antonio location will mark Via 313’s seventh in Texas and 10th systemwide. San Antonio’s first Via 313 will be open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Via 313 exists so more people around the country can enjoy the pizza that’s beloved in Detroit. The pizzas are called square, but they’re actually rectangle and baked in metal trays, just like the ones used on the automotive assembly lines at the Big Three. But instead of being filled with metal parts, Via 313’s trays are filled with the finest pizza ingredients it can source.
