Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurants today introduced 10 new "Lighter Side" menu options, most clocking in at less than 575 calories.

The brewery restaurant launched its latest menu offerings in all 29 nationwide locations on August 30th, 2011.

"There was a demand for low calorie options on our menu, but we needed to make sure these dishes met the Gordon Biersch standard of quality," says Corporate Executive Chef Bill Heckler. "The 10 new 'Lighter Side' entrees definitely fit the bill, pairing healthier choices with the bold international flavors Gordon Biersch is known for."

The complete lineup of "Lighter Side" entrees are:

  • Creole Chicken – Grilled chicken breast topped with spicy jambalaya sauce, served with seasonal vegetables and steamed rice.
  • Mediterranean Chicken – Grilled chicken breast topped with bruschetta tomatoes, served with seasonal vegetables and steamed rice.
  • Moroccan Salmon – Grilled chermoula marinated salmon, served with seasonal vegetables and steamed rice.
  • Moroccan Chicken – Chermoula marinated chicken grilled and served with seasonal vegetables and steamed rice.
  • Spicy Shrimp Stir Fry – With Asian vegetables and jasmine rice.
  • Ahi Salad – Served with Light Balsamic Italian dressing.
  • Grilled Chicken Cashew Salad – Served with Light Balsamic Italian dressing.
  • Spinach Salad – Served with Light Balsamic Italian dressing.
  • Margarita Steak – Citrus marinated New York Steak grilled and served with seasonal vegetables and steamed rice.
  • BBQ Chicken Flatbread – Chicken, corn, black beans, mozzarella, and pepper jack cheese on a thin flatbread topped with BBQ ranch spinach salad.

In addition to the new "Lighter Side" offerings, Gordon Biersch also added two other new menu items on its latest core menu rollout.  

The Veggie Burger, housemade and served on a challa bun with chipotle mayonnaise, shredded lettuce, tomato, and signature Gordon Biersch Garlic Fries, and the Lobster Burger, a 10 oz. burger with lettuce and tomato topped with lobster meat and a citrus lobster sauce, were both newly available on the August 30th new menu launch.
