Silverland Bakery, a purveyor of brownies, bakery bars, natural food bars, and cookies, has announced it will donate 100 percent of its October proceeds from its retail web store to the Athena Fund for Women and Girls, managed by their philanthropy partner, the Oak Park River Forest Community Fund a 501(c)(3) organization.

The fund gives grants and donations to worthy woman-focused organizations such as Mercado Global and Sara’s Inn.

Originally announced at the Oak Park River Forest Community Foundation’s Women Leaders in Philanthropy held at House Red Vinoteca in Forest Park, Illinois, the donation applies to all orders of any flavor and quantity placed on the retail website (wholesale orders are excluded).

“The Athena Fund for Women and Girls and Silverland Bakery are extremely close to my heart; I’d love to share my craft with customers new and old by donating all of our online retail proceeds this October to the fund,” says Athena Uslander, who has been at the helm of Silverland Bakery for 31 years. “When people buy themselves a treat or a friend a gift, they will know that all of the proceeds will go to helping a woman, a family, and a community.”
