Sage Restaurant Group, a Denver-based independent restaurant group dedicated to providing innovative and locally-focused food and beverage experiences, is collaborating with Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign to launch “Hungry to Help,” an associate and guest donation program that supports SRG’s commitment to positively impacting the local communities of its restaurants.

One in five children in America, and in Colorado, struggle with hunger and cannot count on getting their next meal. For the remainder of 2016, diners at any SRG concept across the country can support the “Hungry to Help” program by adding a donation to No Kid Hungry to their check at the end of a meal. For every dollar donated, a child will be connected with 10 meals. Donations made in SRG’s Colorado restaurants will support Cooking Matters Colorado, a Share Our Strength program active in 51 of Colorado’s 64 counties.

In addition, SRG associates can donate via a monthly debit from their paycheck. SRG will also be hosting bake sales and monthly events to continually drum up community support for the cause.

“Philanthropy has been a major tenet of SRG’s culture since our founding year,” says SRG co-founder Peter Karpinski. “We actively seek out charitable efforts that directly affect the issues facing the communities in which we live, run our restaurants, and raise our families. Too many families do not have enough food to meet basic needs, and we are hoping to change that reality through our work with No Kid Hungry.”

No Kid Hungry uses donations to connect children in need with nutrition programs like school breakfast and summer meals, and teaches low-income families to cook healthy, balanced, and affordable meals.
