Attorney turned bar owner Marc Smith believes Chicago is full of creative talent and wants to share it.

His new bar, Tradition Gastro Pub + Kitchen, offers more than food and an extensive craft beer list.

In between the flat screen TV’s, which showcase all Chicago sports games, a large and carefully curated collection of paintings, drawings, and photographs litter the exposed brick walls of the Loop locale. The art, which rotates on a regular basis, is all created by emerging Windy City artists and available for direct purchase.

In November, Smith took his passion for supporting the local arts community further and partnered with Geodesic Designs to make Tradition the new home of the popular pop-up event State of the Art (SOTA.)

Hundreds of Chicagoans flocked to the first installment of SOTA at Tradition where they enjoyed complimentary food and beer while checking out pieces from local artists.

Tradition announced the next SOTA event, which will take place on Feb. 11th from 6 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Guests are invited to view original (and affordable) works while snacking on an array of appetizers from Tradition’s winter menu and sipping on complimentary Coors Light beer.
