Tony's has a new chef de cuisine, Kate McLean, who has been working with the restaurant for nearly three years now.

Chef Grant Gordon will continue on in his role as the restaurant's executive chef and Kate will be working under his supervision as he spends his time between Tony's and the soon-to-be-opened Vallone's.

Houston native Kate McLean is slated to become Tony's chef de cuisine, the first woman to hold the position in the nearly fifty-year history of Tony Vallone's flagship restaurant Tony's.

"Kate has wonderful energy, she's intelligent and creative, and she's been a pleasure to work with," says Tony. "From the first time I tasted her cooking, I knew she was a perfect fit for Tony's. We're thrilled to have her in the kitchen."

"His knowledge of food is endless," says Kate of Tony, "the ultimate mentor," as she likes to call him. "His critical eye in the kitchen has helped to make me the chef that I am today. I'm so proud to be working with such a talented and devoted team of people here at Tony's."
