Caleb Lara has returned to Martha’s Vineyard’s Harbor View Hotel, as executive chef.

Lara will oversee the hotel’s food and beverage program, which includes Water Street, its signature fine dining restaurant, and Henry’s Hotel Bar, as well as event and wedding catering. He will also continue building on the hotel’s long-standing relationship with local farms and fisheries by heavily utilizing locally sourced ingredients.

“We’re pleased to have Caleb back on board and look forward to sharing his culinary talent and experience with the island’s residents and visitors,” says Andrew Bartlett, general manager of Harbor View Hotel.

Most recently, Lara was the chef de cuisine at the Chatham Bars Inn in Chatham, Massachusetts where, in addition to preparation, he was charged with designing the resort’s seasonal menus. He has also worked as a sous chef at Steel & Rye in Milton, Massachusetts and at The Ritz Carlton in Boston.

“I’m thrilled to be back at Harbor View Hotel,” Lara says. “My time here left a lasting impression on my cooking style and gave me a great appreciation for locally sourced ingredients and I’m looking forward to exploring again all that Martha’s Vineyard has to offer.”

Lara is a graduate of The Culinary Institute of American in Hyde Park, New York and received his Chef de Cuisine Certification from the American Culinary Federation.
