Himmel Hospitality Group in Boston, known for its restaurants Grill 23 & Bar, Post 390, and Harvest, departed for its culinary road trip across the nation from Boston to California. On this epic road trip, the culinary team will travel across America’s backyard, exploring different regional cuisines and cooking techniques through collaborations with some of the nation’s best restaurants and chefs, as well as meeting with local purveyors, farmers, fishermen, and ranchers to better understand how they source their products.
The team will make their way down the East Coast, with stops in Washington, D.C., embark on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, fish the waters off Charleston and the Florida panhandle, visit wild game and cattle ranches, experience Creole-style cooking in New Orleans, and more. Throughout the trip, HHG’s chefs and beverage teams will collaborate on dinners along the way including a pastry dinner with José Andrés’ Zaytinya (Washington, D.C.); a “Table in the Sky” dinner with the renowned Alizé (Las Vegas), a NOLA feast at Purloo in New Orleans, a “young guns” chef pop-up at Juniper in Austin, and a modern take on farm fresh dining at Hinoki & The Bird in Los Angeles.
Himmel Hospitality Group will have crossed over 3,000 miles of American soil, leaving its team with a fresh perspective on sourcing ingredients, different styles of cooking, and a passion to share these newfound experiences and inspiration with the Boston community.
