Ted's Montana Grill recently revved up some internal competition to go along with its national consumer "Great American Summer" photo contest.

Dubbed the Burger Recipe Showdown, the brand invited Ted's managers and chefs at all 45 locations to build their own bison or beef burger using any ingredients in the Ted’s kitchen, plus one ingredient of their choice.

The prize for the creator of the winning burger, chosen by Ted's Corporate Chef Chris Raucci, was a Big Green Egg (and bragging rights, of course).

The contest winner is George Shattuck, who joined Ted’s Montana Grill in January 2004 as a line cook and is now the chef for the Atlanta-Midtown restaurant at 1874 Peachtree Road. He put his Culinary Arts degree from the Atlanta Art Institute to good use in creating his winning burger, the South of Montana.

It is described as Ted's all-natural bison burger topped with a true taste of the South: fried green tomatoes and house-made smokey bacon cheese wiz, finished with a fried egg.
