J. Black's Feel Good Kitchen & Lounge held its grand opening yesterday in Houston. The location, along with stores in Dallas and Austin, Texas (as well as a location set to open in Fort Worth, Texas, by the end of the year), was designed by Randall Owen of Hatch + Ulland Owen Architects (h+uo).

The newest location for the upscale restaurant and lounge concept is in the heart of Houston's Washington corridor. It opened quietly in June, preparing for the grand opening.

Signature elements designed by h+uo for J. Black's existing locations have also been incorporated into the design of the newest location, including the distinctive oval bar with "halo" liquor shelf, reclaimed brick from Chicago, and operable doors and windows that open up to the outside, blurring the lines between inside and out.

The Houston location also features two distinct environments: a dining area with an oval bar, as well as a lounge area with an additional rectilinear bar.

The versatile setting has quickly become a popular destination for Houston's discerning clientele.
