With standing room only at its recent pre-opening party on September 26, Yard House opened its doors at the NewCity development in Lincoln Park, Chicago, at Clybourn and North avenues the following day for lunch. Yard House, which also has a location in Glenview, is now welcoming guests daily for lunch, dinner, and late-night dining.

With a nod to the Chicago craft beer scene, Yard House NewCity boasts 110 tap handles with 23 regional craft offerings by 16 local brewers.

"Chicago has a long standing history of great beer and a strong culture of innovative breweries and styles," says Gregory Howard, beverage manager for Yard House. "We are very fortunate to have so many craft beer options available in our own backyard. Our guests are very pleased with the menu we've put together."

Among the local brewers are Ale Syndicate, Begyle, BuckleDown, Goose Island, Half Acre, Local Option, Metropolitan, Moody Tongue, Crown Valley, Off Color, Penrose, Revolution, Solemn Oath, Temperance, Two Brothers, Three Floyds, and Jolly Pumpkin.

Yard House NewCity at Lincoln Park will boast 14 new draft offerings that have never been offered before at any Yard House location, and available for the first time at Yard House, Not Your Father's Hard Root Beer—available by the bottle.

In addition, Yard House's Chalkboard Series features a selection of small, limited releases from mostly craft brewers that rotate monthly keeping the selection both innovative and fresh. These featured beers are listed on a digital chalkboard prominently displayed above the island bar. Currently, offerings include: Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA, Dogfish Head Punkin' Ale, Samuel Adams Fat Jack, Southern Tier Pumking, Weihenstephaner Festbier.

Additional rotating seasonal drafts include offerings from prominent regional and local brewers: Bell's, Lagunitas, Revolution, Samuel Adams, and Three Floyds.

The menu of American favorites includes a selection of globally inspired flavors, from salads and grilled burgers to seafood, steak and ribs. Guests also can enjoy an array of gluten-sensitive options as well as vegetarian dishes made with gardein, a blend of garden vegetables and protein that have the look, taste, and texture of chicken.

The NewCity location spans nearly 11,000 square feet with seating for 488 guests including a 55-seat outdoor patio, plus an additional three dozen seats encircling the restaurant's signature island bar.
