Dallas businessman and Applebee's franchisee Sunil Dharod, president and CEO of SSCP Management, officially added the Roy's Restaurant chain to his restaurant portfolio.

In late 2014, Bloomin' Brands announced its intention to sell its interest in the Roy's concept to United Ohana, a new division of Dharod's SSCP Management.

Dharod, who has been involved in the restaurant industry for over thirty years with multiple concepts, is also the owner of the Apple Texas Group which owns and operates 69 Applebee's restaurants throughout Texas. Dharod also owns several commercial real estate properties.

"Roy's is a very exciting and successful brand," Dharod says. "I look forward to its further growth by capitalizing on its established foundation."

Although terms of the deal were not disclosed, Cheryl Green, vice president of human resources for SSCP Management, confirmed that Roy's current management team will remain in place and will continue to be led by the current president, Rick Scott.

Chris Dharod, vice president at SSCP Management, worked extensively with Bloomin' Brands to successfully close the deal.

"Bloomin' Brands was a pleasure to work with throughout the entire acquisition and closing process,” he says.
