Outback Steakhouse is debuting its newest restaurant in Somerville, Massachusetts, opening at 11 a.m. on July 27.

To show its support of the local community, a portion of the restaurant's opening day sales will benefit Best Buddies, which is dedicated to establishing a global network volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The restaurant will be the newest addition to Assembly Row and the first in the area to feature a new "Modern Australia" design both inside and out.

"Outback Steakhouse is a great addition to the neighborhood—filling a niche that many families and visitors have been asking for," says Matt Ehrie, vice president and general manager of Assembly Row, Federal Realty Investment Trust. "With a focus on supporting our local community, Outback has worked closely with The City of Somerville and Somerville Community Corporation over the past four months to hire locally and be a long term partner for our neighborhood."

The new restaurant will feature a "Modern Australia" design with decor that mirrors the indigenous flora and fauna, adventure, geography, and leisure of modern day Australia. Guests will also enjoy a spacious bar area that includes a community table. The new bar will also feature customized seating and furnishings.

"We're thrilled to be the newest neighbor in Somerville and to set roots in this thriving community," says Matt Gill local proprietor of Outback Steakhouse. "We've expanded our Outback family to include nearly 175 local residents at this new location."

In addition to Outback's signature bold steak dinner entrees, the restaurant recently introduced new core menu innovations, including the Wood-Fire Grilled Flat Iron Steak and Premium Sides, such as Steakhouse Mac & Cheese, Loaded Mash and Parmesan Fries. Plus, for a limited time, guests can enjoy the new Victoria's Filet Mignon Portabella and the Outback Special Sirloin Portabella, starting at $13.99. The Somerville Outback also features a wide variety of lunch combos, starting at $6.99, such as the Aussie Steak Tacos or the new half Ribeye Melt.

The newest Outback restaurant is located at 625 Grand Union Boulevard and is open from 11 to 12 a.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday.
