The Melting Pot Restaurants announced it is actively seeking franchisees to bring its interactive dining experience to Vancouver, Canada, naming the city as a target for future franchise development.

The U.S.-based brand aims to franchise up to two restaurants in Vancouver at this time. Additionally, the company is looking to recruit qualified new franchisees in other Canadian cities, including the Greater Toronto and Calgary areas.

There is currently one Canadian Melting Pot restaurant in Edmonton, which opened in 2010.

“The Melting Pot concept is backed by 30 years of experience in franchising and nearly 40 years of brand recognition, making this an ideal business opportunity for entrepreneurs,” says Dan Stone, vice president of franchise development for Front Burner Brands. “Since the brand has been well-received in Edmonton, we see tremendous growth potential for The Melting Pot in Vancouver.”

The Melting Pot operates more than 130 restaurants in the U.S., Canada and Mexico and has more than 20 locations in development internationally. The concept is known for offering an assortment of fondue cooking styles and a variety of unique entrées served with signature dipping sauces. The menu features a variety of à la carte selections, highlighting customizable options that invite guests to enjoy one, two, three or more courses as they select any combination of individually-priced cheese fondues, salads, entrées, and chocolate fondues.

The Melting Pot made a strong showing in the 2014 Nation’s Restaurant News Consumer Picks Survey ranking sixth out of 38 concepts in the casual dining segment. In the varied menu/specialty sub-segment of the casual dining industry, The Melting Pot ranked first in the categories of cleanliness, service and likelihood to recommend. Overall in the casual dining segment, the brand ranked second in cleanliness, second in service and fourth in likelihood to recommend.
