Logan’s Roadhouse Names Industry Vet Tim Kaliher President

The steakhouse was merged with CraftWorks in November.

On the heels of its merger announcement with CraftWorks Restaurants & Breweries, Logan’s Roadhouse tapped industry veteran Tim Kaliher chief operations officer and brand president.

Before Logan’s Roadhouse, Kaliher was COO of Black Bear Diners, Inc., the company behind the expanding diner chain. He also previously held the COO role at O’Charley’s and served as regional vice president of operations at Red Robin.

“Tim has continued to be a critical component of our team and brings more than 20 years of experience to his new role. His experience, turnaround expertise, and operational acumen will position Logan’s Roadhouse to continue its positive momentum,” said Hazem Ouf, chairman and CEO for CraftWorks Holdings, in a statement. “Strong leadership is critical to Logan’s Roadhouse as it becomes further integrated with the CraftWorks brand, and we are pleased to have a proven leader like Tim drive the brand forward.”

Logan’s Roadhouse has 204 corporate and franchise locations in 22 states. In November, Craftworks announced it completed a deal to acquire the chain. With the purchase, it formed a new multi-brand restaurant group called “CraftWorks Holdings.” Logan’s Roadhouse is the largest part of the company. CraftWorks Holdings is comprised of Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom, Rock Bottom Restaurants and Breweries, Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurants, and Logan’s.

In total, the company runs 393 restaurants across 40 states and the District of Columbia. Ouf, formerly Logan’s CEO, is heading up the company.

Logan’s, which opened in 1991, filed for bankruptcy in August 2016. To bring down its debt from $400 million to $100 million, the 27-year-old brand initially closed 34 restaurants of its 256 locations. Today, Logan’s has 204 corporate and franchise restaurants in 22 states.

Ouf, who is a turnaround expert and industry veteran with more than 35 years of experience, joined the company as CEO in January 2017. The company also brought on David Catalano as chief operating officer last summer to help further efforts to put the brand back on a positive track.
