U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker recently presented international restaurant franchise, Johnny Rockets, with the President’s “E’ Award for Exports at a ceremony in Washington, D.C., The “E” Awards are the highest recognition any U.S. entity may receive for making a significant contribution to the expansion of U.S. exports. Johnny Rockets was honored based on its franchise and sales success overseas.

“Johnny Rockets continues to see strong brand adoption in international markets, in part based on Johnny Rockets’ 30-year history and overwhelming brand awareness, as well as its flexibility to adapt to a country’s needs,” explains James Walker, president of global operations and development, Johnny Rockets. “We feel honored to be the only restaurant to receive the “E” Award this year and look forward to continuing to focus on international growth, enabling us to offer more jobs and deliver quality, all-American menu items to consumers in international markets.”

U.S. companies are nominated for the “E” Award for Exports through the Department of Commerce’s U.S. Commercial Service office network, located within the Department’s International Trade Administration. A total of 123 U.S. companies were presented with the President’s “E” Award this year.
