A 6,600-square-foot Fuddruckers opened in the Algonquin Commons in Algonquin, Illinois, a northwest suburb of Chicago, replacing the Cheeseburger in Paradise, reports Luby’s, Inc., the parent company of both brands.
"Algonquin is an important market for us, and we are committed to being a part of this community,” says Peter Tropoli, COO of Luby's, Inc. In fact, our involvement here since purchasing Cheeseburger in Paradise is what led us to realize that the family-oriented dynamics of this location were better suited to Fuddruckers. Additionally, a brand swap allowed us to accelerate renovations of the site to provide the village with a stylish gathering place in keeping with the demographics of the community."
The Algonquin Commons restaurant serves as a showcase for Fuddruckers' dynamic, new interior scheme. While paying homage to the chain's signature roadhouse look, the refreshed design caters to today's more sophisticated tastes. A highlight of the venue—and unusual for most Fuddruckers restaurants—is a full-service bar featuring a menu of beer, wine, cocktails, and specialty drinks, including a variety of Margaritas, Mojitos, Pina Coladas, and Sangrias. Appetizers on the menu include Nachos, Popcorn and Coconut Shrimp, Quesadillas, and an old CIP favorite, Frickles (fried pickles).
