Brazilian steakhouse Fogo de Chão is debuting a South American classic—the Chilean sea bass—served with a splash of Brazilian-inspired, fresh mango relish. The Fogo de Chão culinary team developed the recipes to highlight the rich and tender flavors of this fish, found in the cold deep waters of the southern Atlantic. Mango Chilean Sea Bass is offered with the gourmet salad bar and à la carte.

"We're excited to introduce our Brazilian take on a South American classic, which expands our variety and enhances the high-end dining experience,” says Andy Feldmann, Fogo de Chão director of marketing, “The Mango Chilean Sea Bass will be another great option for our guests to taste the flavors of Brazil, especially those looking for a lighter entrée during the spring and Lenten seasons."

Fogo is also spotlighting a Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail served on ice with a spicy, Brazilian-inspired malagueta cocktail sauce. The Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail was originally released as a part of Bar Fogo in the flagship New York City location and in San Jose and is now available at U.S. Fogo restaurants coast-to-coast.

Fogo de Chão is an authentic southern Brazilian steakhouse known for its 16 cuts of fire-roasted meats, specially carved to each guest's preference. Diners choose from a variety of selections, including house specialty picanha sirloin, filet mignon, ribeye, lamb chops, chicken wrapped in bacon, and pork ribs. Fogo also offers a 30+ item gourmet salad and southern Brazilian side dishes, such as pão de queijo (warm cheese bread), crispy hot polenta, and caramelized bananas.

Founded in 1979 in Porto Alegre, Brazil, Fogo de Chão expanded into the U.S. in 1997. There are 32 locations throughout Brazil and the U.S., with further expansion planned for 2014, into the Portland, Oregon area.
