bd’s Mongolian Grill, known for its high-energy, interactive dining experience, recently held its 2016 Master Griller Competition to celebrate the grillers who make Mongo Magic happen. This year marked the third year the franchise hosted the system-wide contest, naming team “Mongrillians” from Columbus, Ohio, as the overall winners.

The grill is the heart of the restaurant at bd’s, with grill masters preparing guests’ stir fry creations right in front of them using their signature swords. The “Stir it Up, Your Way” philosophy the brand embraces encourages customers to take ownership of a fun and customized dining experience through its Create-Your-Own stir fry options or the made-to-order menu.

The Master Griller competition celebrates the bd’s dining experience along with the many talented grillers within the franchise system. Participants of this year’s competition were judged based on criteria that included best individual sword trick, best guest interaction, and best team name. Team “Mongrillians” from Columbus were named the 2016 Master Griller Champions, including Will Day, Justin Dillahunt, David Vickery and Adam Caughey. Team member Will “The Thrill” Day was recognized as the individual Master Griller Champion.

“We take pride in the unique dining experience our teammates provide, and the Master Griller Championship is a great way to make sure we are continuously providing an engaging and fun experience for our loyal customers,” says Joe Phraner, president and COO of bd’s Mongolian Grill. “The entire bd’s team congratulates the Mongrillians on their win and are proud to call him them year’s Master Griller Champions.”
