30 Hooters Locations Coming to Southeast Asia

Hooters of America announced an extensive development agreement to open 30 Hooters locations throughout Southeast Asia over the next six years.

After introducing the restaurant concept to Thailand with the opening of Hooters Phuket, international franchisee Destination Resorts Co. has set sights on Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, as well as Hong Kong and Macau.

“The moment the doors opened to Hooters Phuket we realized the tremendous opportunity to greatly broaden our efforts to develop the Hooters brand across Asia,” says Gary Murray, CEO of Destination Resorts Co.

It was less than a year ago when the iconic Hooters Girls first welcomed guests in Patong, Phuket, the entertainment and dining district of the province. Now Destination Resorts Co. will dedicate significant capital and resources to its expanded Hooters venture, continuing growth in Thailand and concentrating heavily in Hong Kong and the Philippines in the coming years.

“Destination Resorts Co. brings a wealth of hospitality and restaurant industry expertise, overseeing premier resorts and travel destinations in multiple Asian markets,” says Mark Whittle, senior vice president of global development for Hooters of America. “Following the warm welcome of Hooters Phuket, we’re confident our esteemed franchise partner will realize continued success as we work together to spread Hooters wings in additional markets.”

Hooters continues its acceleration of restaurant openings and is actively seeking qualified franchise partners to open new locations in select markets across the U.S. and around the globe.
