MR CHOW Restaurants Hires Accomplished Director of Beverage

Internationally renowned Beijing fine-dining restaurant collection MR CHOW has appointed Michael Loomis as new director of beverage. Loomis will be responsible for the re-imagination of the restaurants’ innovative cocktail and wine menus, as well as oversee the beverage program for each of the glamorous locations, speared by restauranteurs and cultural luminaries Michael and Eva Chow, in Beverly Hills, London, Miami, Malibu, New York, Las Vegas, and Mexico City, opening later this year.

Loomis brings more than 11 years of international experience with some of the world’s most recognized restaurants to MR CHOW. Most recently, Mr. Loomis designed the beverage program at Chef Brian Malarkey’s Herringbone in Los Angeles, as well as his new concept Ivory on Sunset at Mondrian Los Angeles. Prior to that, Loomis was beverage manager for the famed Fig & Olive restaurants across the country, refreshing the menu with new cocktail creations each season. Loomis launched his career with Nobu restaurants, beginning as a bartender at Nobu Miami Beach, before transitioning to Bar Manager at Nobu Australia and ultimately, Nobu San Diego.

“We are thrilled to have Michael direct the beverage efforts for MR CHOW restaurants around the globe,” says Michael and Eva Chow. “Michael brings an in-depth understanding of creative mixology and proven success in beverage management to MR CHOW, and we’re excited to have him as a talented addition to the international team.”

Loomis’ new cocktail menu will feature unique twists on old favorites, as well as a number of inventive cocktails infused with MR CHOW’s most revered sauces, which will be available for fans to purchase at fine supermarkets and specialty retailers later this year.

Loomis attended the esteemed Parsons School of Design in New York City and University of Melbourne’s Victorian College of the Arts. Loomis has earned multiple honors throughout his career, including first place in the exclusive 2009 Zaya Rum cocktail competition in San Diego, and has been published in top media outlets, such as Los Angeles Times and Harper’s Bazaar. In addition, Loomis is a certified American Wine Specialist through the North American Sommelier Association.
