The NC Chef Showdown is preparing for a knockout, as bar manager Alex Flynn of The Haymaker, in Raleigh, North Carolina, prepares to step into the ring of the event’s mixology challenge. Teaming up alongside Flynn are the beverage experts of Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits.

Their target? Hornitos Tequila.

Flynn approaches the bar with a killer spirit instinct thanks to his Armagnac Certification granted by the Bureau National Interprofessionel de l'Armagnac and his Beverage Alcohol Resource (BAR) 5-Day Certification. In addition, Flynn brings national experience to the competition, preparing craft cocktails for the thirsty patrons of Boston, New York City, Montreal, Washington, D.C., and more.

Five competing bartenders will set up alongside Flynn and team at three cocktail stations. Each station will have back-to-back 6-foot-long bars, one per competitor. Flynn will be rivaling against Raleigh natives from Fox Liquor Bar, Tupelo Honey Cafén and more.

Flynn will be serving up 2.4 ounces of his one-of-a-kind spirit to more than 300 guests just down the road from The Haymaker’s stomping grounds at 214 Martin Street in downtown Raleigh from 6 to 9 P.M on August 29. Tickets are on sale now for $125.
