Boston’s Restaurant & Sports Bar Signs 5-Unit Deal in Mexico

 

Boston’s Restaurant & Sports Bar, a casual-plus dining concept that combines a family-friendly restaurant and separate sports bar under one roof, announced the signing of an international franchise agreement that will bring five new restaurants to Mexico.

The expansion is led by two experienced restaurateur investors who have plans to develop these locations in the states of Nuevo Leon and Chihuahua. The first restaurant will be located in Chihuahua City and is expected to open by March 2014.

“Our business model translates really well into the Mexican culture and our four established locations in Mexico have continuously performed well,” says Mike Best, COO of Boston’s Restaurant & Sports Bar. “The family-oriented atmosphere includes large gathering areas, extensive menu offerings, and a unique addition of children’s play zones. These factors allow the restaurants to be some of the top grossing in our system and we have high expectations for these additional units.” Best noted that, with approximately 50-60 employees per location, including 3-4 full-time, salaried staff, job creation provides a much-welcomed economic boost in local communities.

This new franchise deal is part of an ongoing franchise expansion effort that targets multi-unit operators in both the U.S. and Mexico. In addition to the signed agreement in Mexico, Boston’s has also signed a single-unit deal in Hagerstown, Maryland, which is slated to open by the end of the year, following 2 restaurant openings in Fenton, Michigan and Fontana, California in August of 2013.

Boston’s Restaurant & Sports Bar’s U.S. operations are based in Dallas. The company currently has 39 locations operating in 23 states and 4 locations in Mexico. Boston’s is looking to strengthen its growing presence in the United States by expanding in Florida, Michigan, Texas and the Mid-Atlantic states through franchising. The company’s sister brand, Boston Pizza, has more than 350 locations throughout Canada and is considered the No. 1 casual dining brand in the country.
