Former White House Press Secretary and Fox News Host Dana Perino will address the National Restaurant Association’s 28th annual Public Affairs Conference being held on April 29th—30th.

Perino will address 600 restaurateurs from across the country as they convene in Washington D.C. to meet with Congressional leaders and discuss key legislation and policy issues impacting the foodservice industry.

Perino is currently a Fox News contributor and co-host of The Five, the channel’s daily political news show. She is also the president of the strategic communications firm Dana Perino and Company and was nominated by President Obama to the Broadcasting Board of Governors in 2009.

Perino was the second female White House press secretary in history, serving under President George W. Bush from 2007–2009. Before joining the White House, Perino was a spokesperson at the Department of Justice. Additionally, she serves on the boards of Mothers Day Every Day, Running Start, ONE Campaign, and Pets2Vets.

The NRA’s 2014 public affairs conference theme, “America Works Here,” is part of the National Restaurant Association’s ongoing campaign to share the industry’s story as a leading job creator and industry of opportunity. With nearly one million locations nationwide, the restaurant industry is the nation’s second-largest private sector employer of more than 13.5 million individuals. The conference will allow restaurant operators the opportunity to share their story with opinion leaders and highlight restaurants as an essential part of our economy and the nearly 130 million Americans served daily.

The conference agenda will also include the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation’s 2014 Gala Awards Dinner, honoring the winners of the 2014 Faces of Diversity and Restaurant Neighbor awards.
