Westwood will become home to Tanzy Restaurant, an artisanal Italian concept from Florida-based hospitality visionaries iPic Entertainment. Executive Chef Bryan Podgorski brings considerable culinary pedigree to the kitchen with prior posts under Thomas Keller at French Laundry and as Chef de Cuisine of Bouchon Bistro Las Vegas.  Tanzy will command a sprawling space created for culinary enthusiasts and power players alike who seek an inspired and distinct dining experience.

“We are thrilled to bring Tanzy to Los Angeles. Chef Bryan is an extremely talented executive chef who has worked at some of the finest restaurant establishments,” says President and CEO of iPic Entertainment, Hamid Hashemi. “Angelenos can expect modern culinary techniques which create a light approach to Italian dishes and allow supremely fresh ingredients to stand on their own.”

Chef Podgorski has crafted an inspired, artisanal Italian menu for lunch and dinner focused on offerings that are thoughtfully sourced and artfully prepared. Drawing culinary inspiration from his international travels and a deep appreciation for the innate potential of ingredients, Podgorski places key emphasis on locally sourced vegetables, seafood, and produce. Both lunch and dinner menus will include raw bar offerings, a selection of sliced cured meats served with pickled vegetables and grilled bread, assorted cheeses, starters, salads, house made pastas, entrée selections, and sides.

Standout creations include Grilled Spanish Octopus with warm potato salad, celery branch, lemon, and parsley emulsion; Strozzapreti with Bolognese, plum tomato, and fresh ricotta; Orecchiette with spiced turkey sausage and wilted Swiss chard; Braised Beef Short Rib with toasted pearl barley, wilted collard greens, pickled heirloom carrots, and natural jus; and Wild White Seabass Panzanella with Tokyo turnips, shaved red onion, wilted spinach, salsify, and brown butter vinaigrette. To round out the menu, guests can satisfy their sweet tooth with highlights including Panna Cotta with Harry’s Berries strawberries and amaretti crumble and Torta Di Cioccolato with dark chocolate cream, salted caramel, and banana gelato.

Tanzy will boast an impressive beverage program with expertly selected wines, as well as hand-crafted cocktails helmed by award-winning mixologist and Master Sommelier Adam Seger. Seger, called a “spirits guru” by Food & Wine magazine, is known for bringing the kitchen to the bar and creating cocktails that are innovative and delectable from first sight and smell to final sip.

The aesthetic composition of Tanzy is the creative vision of designer Karen Hanlon. The airy and inviting space has natural materials like hand-hewn reclaimed wood sourced from 100-year-old barns and factories in the Midwest, industrial riveted zinc panels, and visually stabilizing stacked brown stonework that mingle with a color palate of earth tones and soft metallics.

The dining environment is designed to suit each guest’s mood and desires through spaces within the space: nooks for quiet conversation, areas for easy socializing amongst a group of friends, places to view the culinary action, and a sophisticated lounge-style patio to savor an intimate moment over a cocktail. Guests enter through the eye-catching Cocoon Lounge, and feel enveloped by the structural space fashioned of curling natural Balinese branches, designed to evoke the feeling of walking through the forest.
