Johnny Rockets restaurant chain introduces its summer offerings today with a variety of flavors that honor the iconic Route 66, which runs between Chicago, Illinois, and Santa Monica, California. The limited time menu items feature three new sandwiches from locations across Route 66: from Chicago, the Big Pastrami Pretzel Burger; from the Midwest, the Heartland Veggie Boca Burger; and from the West Coast, the California BLT Avocado Chicken Sandwich with fresh California Avocados.
Also new are three blended summer floats made with Cherry Coke, Fanta Orange, and Barq's Root Beer. All will be available at participating restaurants May 26 through August 2, 2015.
"Our new culinary team has been working on introducing new flavors and ideas that you wouldn't expect from Johnny Rockets," says Joel Bulger, chief marketing officer. "Our Flavors of Route 66 promotion starting Memorial Day week is just the beginning of our new menu innovation. Our guests will be excited about these new items and to see what's coming next at Johnny Rockets."
Johnny Rockets restaurants across the country will showcase the Big Pastrami Pretzel Burger, which pays homage to Chicago and its rich culinary history. The made-to-order, 100-percent fresh beef farm-to-table burger is topped with grilled pastrami, Provolone cheese, caramelized onions, yellow mustard, and sliced pickles on a soft pretzel bun.
As a burger alternative, the California BLT Avocado Chicken Sandwich features a cage-free chicken breast topped with bacon-infused mayonnaise, fresh-sliced California avocado, bacon, tomato, onions and green leaf lettuce served on a whole wheat bun. For those looking for a vegetarian option, the Heartland Veggie Boca Burger is topped with Provolone cheese, Dijon mustard mayonnaise, tomatoes, lettuce, and sliced pickles on a soft whole-wheat bun.
Johnny Rockets new floats are made with hand-dipped premium vanilla ice cream and a choice of Cherry Coke or Fanta Orange. The menu also features chocolate root beer floats made with Barq's Root Beer.
