The award-winning casual-dining franchise Quaker Steak & Lube, known for its Best Wings USA and more than 20 sauces, announced February 7 that it is continuing on the tremendous growth built from 2012, and is on track to open 17 new restaurants in 2013 in Texas, South Dakota, South Carolina, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Florida, among other states.

Fueling this announcement is the recent grand opening of the company’s newest corporate Quaker Steak & Lube restaurant in Plano, Texas, with additional restaurants in Medina, Ohio and Columbia, S.C., expected to open in the first quarter of the year.

“2012 was a momentous year for our brand as we welcomed 4 new franchisees into our Lube family and also signed 11 new agreements,” says John Longstreet, president and chief executive officer, Quaker Steak & Lube. “We are well on our way to doubling our current footprint, and we’re extremely excited to bring The Lube to new markets like Rapid City, S.D, and also open four or five more corporate restaurants in 2013.”

The company experienced significant growth in 2012, with 11 restaurant openings, a 22 percent increase from the previous year, and a 13 percent increase in system wide revenues. The company has nearly 60 locations to date, and began its Texas Takeover with three corporate openings in Waco, Carrolton, and Plano.

Longstreet continues, “It’s the unwavering support of our loyal Lubies, dedicated franchisees and management team that has helped propel our brand to the head of the casual dining segment this past year.”
