On March 26, 2015, Emeril’s New Orleans, the original flagship restaurant created by Emeril Lagasse, will celebrate 25 years since it opened in New Orleans’ Warehouse District.

The restaurant where Lagasse first introduced his signature “New New Orleans” cuisine is still considered one of the city’s quintessential dining destinations. To commemorate this milestone, Emeril’s will host a month-long celebration, featuring weekly throwback menus, specialty wine pairings, and a series of celebratory dinners hosted by Lagasse himself.

Determined to redefine New Orleans cuisine while paying homage to traditional Louisiana fare, on March, 26th, 1990, Lagasse opened Emeril’s at 800 Tchoupitoulas Street, and New New Orleans cuisine was born. Since then, Emeril’s has helped set the scene for the city’s modern food revolution and paved the way for some of New Orleans’ most acclaimed restaurants today.

“I look around at the amazing talent in this city and all the great chefs—I’m honored that many have come through the kitchen at Emeril’s,” Chef Emeril says. “It’s exciting to see how the dining scene has changed, there’s a lot more competition and it pushes us to stay creative and keep evolving.”

Paying tribute to the past and celebrating what’s to come, the 25th anniversary celebration at Emeril’s will run throughout the month of March. From March 1-25, the restaurant will feature a different Throwback Menu each week, showcasing favorite dishes from the past 25 years, each with a unique story behind it.

Available a la carte or as a specialty tasting menu upon request, diners can expect signature plates including Quail Milton, stuffed with mushrooms, Andouille, and a Port wine sauce, named after the City Council member who helped with the permitting process to open the restaurant.

Sommelier Ray Gumpert will match wines to each Throwback Menu.

The anniversary celebration will culminate with 3 Nights with Emeril, a trio of dinners that will spotlight the continued innovation at Emeril’s. Hosted by Lagasse, chef de cuisine David Slater, and general manager Kevin Delaune, the nightly six-course dinners with wine pairings will take place on Thurs. March 26 through Sat. March 28.

Priced at $250 per person, per night (excluding tax and gratuity) the evening will commence at 6:30 p.m. with a welcome reception featuring specialty cocktails, full open bar, passed hors d’oeuvres and of course, Chef Emeril himself.

Upon seating, diners will indulge in a creative, collaborative six-course menu created by Lagasse, Slater and his New Orleans Chefs Anthony Scanio/Emeril’s Delmonico and Joshua Laskay/NOLA. While the menus will remain a surprise, guests can expect an array of dishes showcasing the future of New New Orleans cuisine, paired perfectly by Gumpert with nightly wine themes.
